OPK plans to release a robotic security complex

ОПК планирует выпуск роботизированного охранного комплекса

The United Instrument-Making Corporation (OPK) is planning to arrange deliveries of the newest robotic radar-optical complex. Such an installation without direct involvement of a person is able to conduct automatic monitoring of the terrain, find violators and track their movement.

The domestic robotic complex is being developed by the Chelyabinsk radio factory "Polet". There is a complex of radar, thermal imager and several special video cameras. A special software is responsible for data processing and interaction between all parts of the system.

According to the deputy department of innovation development of the OPK Pavel Anisimov,

Individual elements of the complex have already been tested and demonstrated excellent results. Now the first prototypes of the complex have been created, which will soon go on trial to potential customers. In addition to law enforcement agencies, this development may be of interest to oil and gas companies, power engineers, Russian Railways, various transport, logistics and infrastructure companies.

Using the radar station, the system detects the intruder, then the target designation team is transferred to the optoelectronic module, which recognizes the type of object: person, car or other types of equipment, including low-flying drones. Detection is possible from a distance of several kilometers. The complex is capable of monitoring at any time of the day and practically under any meteorological conditions.

An agreement has already been reached to carry out field trials with the Border Research Center of the Russian FSB. And the interest in the development of the project and the use of technology came from the main missile and artillery department of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Rosrezerv, FSIN of Russia. The launch of the robotic complex is scheduled for 2017.
