The technology of excluding everything from the picture developed a researchers at Princeton University in collaboration with Adobe programmers. We all love the popular Adobe Photoshop graphics package and its key functions like "stamp" (filling in a certain part of the image with fragments of another area) and "healing brush" (removing excess objects or garbage from the picture). The key composition objects must be located at or near the intersection of lines. This technique allows you to take a picture much more expressive and easily perceived by a person. But if there are objects in the frame that do not correspond at all to the photographer's idea and only distract the viewer - they urgently need to do something.

Researchers have spent a lot of time and energy to create a computer model that accurately identifies objects in the image that distract the attention of a person from the central composition. In the testing of the system, both ordinary Internet users and numerous professional photographers took part. People were asked to view thousands of photographs and point them at those objects that distract their attention and give discomfort to the audience. The information obtained during the research served as the basis for learning the future algorithm.

As a result, the developers even figured out how to automatically cut out of photos not only various small objects, but also accidentally dropped into the frame of a car or the face of a joker who tries to spoil your self with his "photobomb". Do not forget that all this is done with a single click, without dancing with a tambourine and artistic skills, as in the case of Adobe Photoshop. Of course, while the mechanism does not work well and it will take additional time to refine and improve it, but the creators of the algorithm hope that very soon it will be included in numerous graphic editors along with other useful tools.
