The crew of the International Space Station received a new camera RED Epic Dragon, capable of shooting video with a resolution of up to 6K (6144 x 3160 pixels) and a frequency of 300 frames per second. The other day NASA posted the first video in 4K resolution, taken with this camcorder.
With such a high resolution, you will be able to distinguish the smallest details of the Earth's clouds, or, for example, to consider in detail a ball of water with effervescent gas in zero gravity.
The new camera is designed not only to attract public attention to space flights - it is also very practical. Recording in the slow-motion mode (up to 300 frames per second) will be useful in the implementation of docking spacecraft with the station, and high-definition image will better examine the results of scientific experiments.
The RED Epic Dragon video camera, thanks to its outstanding characteristics, has already gained popularity in the film industry: for example, the Great Gatsby, The Life of Pi, the trilogy of Peter Jackson about the hobbit and many other films were shot.
