Canon has decided to expand the capabilities of its professional camcorders by releasing an update of the software for the XF305 and XF300 models. The new firmware version supports 3D technologies.

The 3D Assist function allows cameras to shoot high-definition video in 3D. Scan Reverse, Double Slot Recording, and the option to disable the Relay Recording feature have also been updated.
