It is not clear why, but yesterday Sony Japan officially announced the termination of production of A33. Recall that this is one of the newest SLR cameras (dSLR) in the model range of the famous Japanese company and one of the main design features is the so-called translucent mirror.
It is worth noting that the A33 is a pretty fresh camera: it was officially introduced last year, or more precisely, just seven months ago. According to some sources, its image sensor is very hot during work and this fact can be the reason why Sony removes it from production. So or not, we do not know, but we can assume that Sony has already prepared a replacement for the A33 and the new camera is likely to be equipped with a translucent mirror. As you know, unlike Canon and Nikon, Sony is betting on this technology.
