If you believe Mike Gradias, the author of the book Nikon D400, this DSLR does exist, and it is possible that Nikon will soon present it to the users. Although this book will be released only in summer, but now it can already be pre-ordered through the online store Markt + Technik.de.
As one of the participants of the NikonRumors forum reported, he managed to contact the author of this book, and during the conversation Mike Gradias once again confirmed the accuracy of this information.
At the moment, little is known about the Nikon D400, but apparently this camera is an upgraded version of the well-known model D300 (in the photo). It has such sensitivity (up to ISO 25600), but will receive a 15-megapixel matrix. According to some reports, the Nikon D400 can record HD video, but it is unclear at what resolution, 1080p or 720p. As you know, the only model among Nikon DSLR cameras that copes with this task is the D90, but in this case we are talking only about 720p resolution.
