According to Austrian sources, the newest Pentax SLR camera, K7D, will be officially launched in early May, Electronista reports. This model belongs to the category of professional cameras and is not a modification of the well-known K20D model, but has a completely different design.
Apparently, this is a “SLR” of professional class, and it will be positioned as an alternative to Canon EOS-5D Mark II.
So far, little is known about the technical characteristics and functionality of the Pentax K7D, but this model most likely has a CMOS matrix with a higher resolution than the K20D. We remind you that the resolution of the image sensor of the latest model is 14.6 megapixels. In addition, K7D will use some filters that are used in the latest Pentax SLR cameras.
On the cost and availability of this model is not reported.
