Finally, today Pentax has officially unveiled its newest SLR camera (dSLR) - the K7D. It seems that we already knew about this model long before it was released, since a lot of it was written about it in various network resources, but it turns out that there are no surprises here, Slash Gear writes.

So, this model really got a new, 14.6 megapixel CMOS matrix. In addition, it still boasts a new processor PRIME II. In fact, the K7D was the first Pentax dSLR camera that can shoot HD video. It is worth noting that if similar cameras from other manufacturers usually allow you to shoot video in 720p resolution, then K7D is a special case: it turns out that this “SLR” can record video in a very non-standard resolution - 1536 × 1024 at a speed of 30 frames per second. Moreover, it still has an HDMI port, so you can quickly connect it to any HD TV to view the footage.

Among the main design features of the K7D, you can also mention a 3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 921,000 pixels. By the way, it supports the Live View technology and allows you to change the composition of the frame without changing the position of the camera. Moreover, the K7D still has a number of great features, including Shake Reduction (optical image stabilization), separate electronic indicators for AF (aftofocus), level, and lens correction inside the camera. Of particular interest is the function High Dynamic Range, which allows you to take three frames in a row and automatically combine them into a single photo. As stated, the K7D has 11-point autofocus and enhanced protection against bad weather, dust and cold. The camera can shoot up to 5 frames per second, and its shutter operates at a speed of 1/8000 seconds.

Obviously, we have a very interesting dSLR mid-range camera. Predictably, deliveries of K7D will begin in July. In the body variant this “SLR” costs 1299.95 US dollars. For her, Pentax has already prepared two lenses - smc DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL WR and smc DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED WR. Their cost will be 199.95 and 249.95, respectively. It is worth noting that both models have enhanced weather protection.
